I have heard many times and even read in newspapers that many Koreans who came to Singapore, either bring their packets of ramen or just cook their own food here.
Most of the time, the only food they liked and tried is always the chilli crab.
I took Korean language class in 2015 with friends to learn more about their culture, food, people and weather.
I have not been to Korea before and even when I go there, I would love to try eating all kinds of Korean food.
From my point of view, I would recommend a few local food places for Koreans coming to Singapore yearning to try local food yet hesitate to:-
1. Korean spicy/hot ramen is equivalent to: spicy noodle (which you can choose with meat or seafood)
i. if you live around Bukit Panjang area, try visiting Bukit Panjang Ke Kou Mian stall at 163A Gangsa Road
ii. around Bukit Timah area, can visit Top 1 Hand Made Noodle located at Beauty World, 144 Upper Bukit Timah Rd, #04-44.
2. Laksa or Tom Yum noodle/soup
i. best to look for those in hawker centres, cheap and nice. 363 Katong Laksa has the best taste so far that is if you live around that area, 29 Lor Liput S'pore 277740. A few food stalls in the KopiThiam Food Court serves tasty laksa too.
ii. Tom Yum soup taste about the same anywhere in local food courts/hawker centres. Real authentic Tom Yum soup is colourless so if you really want the real thing, best to find Thai Restaurants or just fly to the country itself. Haha
